Curriculum Clean-OUT: Win God & Christian Artists

This contest is now closed.

Congratulations to our winner: Ambre

Homeschool Book Give-away!

Anyone who knows me, also knows how much I have loved being a homeschooling Mom to my (now graduated) four sons. I learned along side them and learned from them. What a great blessing learning at home is!

At this stage, I have a lot of books and curriculum that need to find a  new home. I reluctantly sold a few larger items on Ebay (my beloved books, my steady friends!) and set lower prices to move some books at a local used book sale. Then I saw this neat blog hop Curriculum Clean-OUT going on over at Homeschool Creations and thought I'd join in. When you get done here head over to check out the other giveaways posted. There are some interesting items and it won't cost a nickel if you win!

Have you decided what to use for art this year? Let me suggest . . .

  1. The thing I love best about art is when I actually have all the supplies on hand for the kids to make something. LOL That doesn't happen too often. I enjoy paper crafting but don't have a huge background of art appreciation. I'd love to introduce the great artists to my kids.

  3. i love how it doesn't take much to please children in the area of Art! my kiddos love paint and it could be as simple as making things out of paper and they think it's great! openhisword@yahoo.com

  4. I love the hands-on aspect of art! It is a nice change of pace, and fits nicely into just about any unit study we come up with.

  7. We worked very hard on a poster we were doing in art, and didn't realize til the end, we pasted all the pictures on the poster upside down. We already had the words written on the poster, so when you held it upright, all the pictures were upside down, LOL. debbieka1968 @ verizon . net just remove the spaces for my email.

    1. Thanks Debbie, but I wonder why you are not showing up as a follower then? That's funny (maybe not so at the time) about your poster. You have to see the humor in learning at times!

  9. I thought when I started home schooling that we'd do a lot more art. Coming from being a public school art teacher I thought it would be my strong point. I just believe in the value of art so much, but I think art is easy to consider as an extra that we'll fit in later when we have more time, or like when a carpenter's house is never finished. I'm thankful that a small group of home school friends and I have met for an art lesson each month for the last couple of years. That has been a blessing. And I hope I win your book! 11. I love art, because it is healing and natural (for all ages!) I have a young artist in my home who has found herself through drawing. For fun, you can see her drawings at her face book page called Jo Jo Art. She just turned 8 and her art has given her something larger than herself to share with the world. She has had a pen in hand since she was an infant. I current have nearly 1000 photos to finish editing of her artwork. It has helped her be more confident in approaching other subjects in school and has provided her a way to experience confidence. We have done almost no formal art education, so I am always looking for good books to help teach her. And it has prompted mommy to think about getting our her own sketch books and paints! ;0)
    We LOVE art!
